Mail on Sunday #8

AKA In My Mailbox is a meme inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie and hosted by the lovely Kristi over at The Story Siren. It's a look at all the Lit related items...books or otherwise, we've acquired during the week.

This week I got one Item from My Wish List and borrowed two from the library.

Wings by Aprilynne Pike
The cover of the version I got is far different from the one  I've seen on other book blogs. My pic doesn't do it any justice. It's eradescent and a little shiny. I've got a fair few books to read before this one but I'll get there soon enough!
Goodreads

My Championship Year by Jenson Button
I lurve F1 and am a total JB fan too. I don't really read biographies but was told that this one's a really great read, chronicling his WDC win. I thought borrowing it would be safer...I hate buying things then end up hating them.
Goodreads

The Game of Triumphs by Laura Powell
I borrowed the sequel last week...realised it was the sequel and decided to get the first just so I know what's going on Luckily I didn't start on the 2nd one.

Well that's me this week...what did you get?

My Wish List #2

This is a weekly post on the books I'm craving but haven't gotten around to getting them yet. It's hosted by Book Chick City.

Waking Up In The Land of Glitter (Crafty Chica Novels) by Kathy Cano-Murillo. It sounds hilarious and the trailers which you can get into below are super cute and funny.

Waking Up in the Land of Glitter: A Crafty Chica Novel
From Goodreads: Struggling domestic-goddess-in-training Ofy is determined to turn heads at this year's International CraftOlympics. To do that, she'll need the help of her best friend, Star. Considering herself a serious artist, Star is hesitant, but finally agrees to help as a way to end her own creative slump. Truthfully she thinks Ofy is a little loca about the whole craft thing - and about her idol: Local TV personality, Crafty Chloe. Star doesn't trust the bottle-blonde, even after she becomes part of their crafting team. As the competition heats up, Star will learn Chloe's dirty little secret, why crafting means so much to Ofy, and that beauty, art, and creativity can take many more forms than a canvas hanging in a gallery.

Waiting on Wednesday : Spells

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly theme hosted by Breaking the Spine, that's all about upcoming releases that tickle our fancies.

This week I'm waiting on Spells by Aprilynne Pike. I am very excited about it. The first book Wings is an absolute charmer er go 'a must read'....aallegedly, you see; I must admit I have yet to read Wings. Since Melissa's review I had a chat about it with a g.f of mine who's read it and is hell bent on me reading it and I surely will be!. So out of respect and much love in her regards Spells is a guarantee must read, since she is CERTAIN I'd lurve Wings. I have a 'thing' for faeries you see.
Anywho here's a brief synopsis courtesy Miss Pike's site.

Six months have passed since Laurel saved the gateway to the faerie realm of Avalon. Now she must spend her summer there, honing her skills as a Fall faerie. But her human family and friends are still in mortal danger--and the gateway to Avalon is more compromised than ever.

When it comes time to protect those she loves, will she depend on David, her human boyfriend, for help? Or will she turn to Tamani, the electrifying faerie with whom her connection is undeniable?

What are you waiting on?! X
