Waiting on Wednesday:...Why I Hate Her

Waiting on Wendnesday is hosted by Breaking The Spine and is a weekly event all about upcoming release we can't wait to get into!
The Complete History of Why I Hate Her by Jennifer Richard Jacobson

From Goodreads:
The Complete History of Why I Hate HerNola befriends Carly, but Carly turns out to be much more complicated than the standard summer buddy--her borderline personality can turn on Nola in a flash. As the girls' instant friendship unhinges by subtle, increasingly powerful turns, the commonplace becomes dramatic--and the outcome unforgettable.
From Amazon:
Seventeen-year-old Nola is working as a waitress in a Maine resort for a summer away from home. This means she has left her 13-year-old sister, a cancer patient to whom she is credibly devoted, at home while she explores her own life. When she first meets a peer named Carly, no red flags go up, but as the summer goes on, Nola becomes acutely aware of Carly’s manipulations of others in order to acquire, chameleon-like, their hairstyles, boyfriends, even, apparently, little sisters. When Nola’s little sister shows up in Maine, it appears as though she has come at Carly’s beckoning. Nola struggles to regain control of her own feelings about the teens in Maine and her physically fragile sister’s needs. Although not all of the characters here are fully developed, Nola’s sister is well constructed and offers some good insights, sometimes in haiku and sometimes in conversation, and teens anxious for friends would be wise to recognize Carly as potentially dangerous. A compelling story of self-discovery with plenty of insights into the motivations that drive relationships.

I'm a Scaredy Cat!

Literally had some intense introspection while making this post.

Well I haven't written about my booky wook in a while...have I? Truth be told I haven't written anything in a month...mostly because of my never ending job hunt, creating this template as I'm a novice to blogger not to mention CSS/HTML and writer's block. I know what I want to write/say but can't seem to. So I've decided to use some writer's prompts and get more active in the One Minute Writer's blog. I'm also hoping Melissa's plan comes together...I think that would help my writer's juce flow and keep me sharp.

It's not really writer's block I have it in my head I just can't seem to get with it. I guess it's a serious lack of motivation. It's me just sitting there with all the goo stuff and not letting it come out. So technically it's no block at all. I guess I am just being a bit lazy. Makes me wonder exactly how much; whatever it is I'm having do published authors suffer. I mean they must do right? Unless they're all awesom at writing ad not afraid of creating a book.

*Epiphany* yep just then right when I typed that full stop! My intention was to rap this up when I realised I'm a little afraid so I'm not letting myself write. I'm too afraid that it will fail. That my book would be rubbish and never get published...dream OVER...DONE...SEE YA NEVER...BUH-BYE!
I'm also afraid that it would turn out to be a fantastic book that everyone loves. So I guess I'm not lazy or lacking motivation or having writer's block. I'm afraid so I'm allowing myself to procrastinate. WOW!!!

Do any of you have any tips for what I've got? Whatever it is, I want to be rid of it and get on with my book...STAT! I say book...manuscript really :)

Mail on Sunday ♥ 5 PLUS an ACTUAL AUTHOR wants my Review!

AKA In My Mailbox is a meme inspired by Alea of Pop Culture Junkie and hosted by the lovely Kristi over at The Story Siren. I've got very little lit mail this week but it's my most exciting one yet!
I have added a new feature on my blog where I'd have a quick link to my most current MoS post. You can't miss it it headed by the pic to your right.

The book I've received was sent to me by an actual author, who wants me to read his book and give an honest review. How crazily cool is that?! I'm stoked because I really wanted the book anyway and to get it from the man who wrote it equals big smiley face!
