This is a new meme hosted by Lori's Book Corner. Today is the first Saturday Spotlight...EVER! It' all about showcasing something new each week. To learn more about it and get involved yourself>>>> Feeling a Spotlight Coming ON!
This week we're 'spotlighting' OURSELVES....who we are, what we like to read and why we started blogging.
Well...I'm 23 years old, I live in what they call the Shires/Home Counties of England...Buckinghamshire. It's very quiet where I live. It's a small town/village in Bucks. It's homely, quaint and made up of mostly restored building and houses that have been there since the war....and some new building too. I always joke about, saying the biggest thing we have is Tesco which for those not in the UK is like Walmart or some sort of equivalent. Due to the size of my town...most people commute to and from work,to ad from place of entertainment :P We've got 4 schools though, 2 high schools and 2 primary schools and EDUCATION is a BIG THING HERE! I went to school in another town though...15 minutes away... That pic is the beginnings of sunset in my town.
Enough about small towns...ha I'm a small town girl, living in a lonely world, she took the midnight train going anywhere...yeah I lurve music, and those are lyrics just in case your not as into music as I am. Music apart from the whole book thing, is my thang. I listen t it allllll the time. I download songs every week. I've even got spare headphones and am upgrading my ipod because I have more songs than the nano could hold :D Maybe I should review music.
I'm a law graduate and well I'm absolutely positive that I'm certainly not sure that I want to become a solicitor anymore. So I am a receptionist...well I kind of am. I usually do temp work filling in for those on maternity leave or on holiday. So right now apart from blogging I'm job hunting so I can get a steady income to pay for my Masters which would e perhaps Law related but most likely Journalism. Writing's my thang too you see. I'm also writing a book...I've got 4 in my head and none of them relate to the other.
I'm mixed raced and multi cultural. I was born in Trinidad and Tobago. A cosmopolitan Caribbean island. All creeds and races collide and create a bunch of children like me...sometimes less mixed than I..just as mixed or more or mixed differently. So from a young age I've been exposed to different cultures...I lurve learning about different cultures too. This pic is a bit of T&T.
Books and I...friendship ever since I go my first book...I can't remember what it was but in he vicinity of first books I remember Dr. Seuss' Hop on Pop and Cat in the Hat. I fell in love. I've been reading ever since and usually get books as presents. I like it that! I generally read fiction- thriller, Historical fiction, YA and chick lit. I love edgy chick lit not too much into the pinks, frills and glitter. I' a man's girl...tomboy chic :)
I'm the eclectic eccentric in my family! Yep the slight weird one. I'm a bit rock n roll, hippy/bohemian rhapsody, artsy not fartsy type of girl. I also lurve pin-ups. Wow I'm gong on and on on this one. I talk alot too so...yeah!
Why I started this blog. I want to chronicle my journey through writing a novel and hopefully getting it published. I love books so I thought hmmm...why not review some and then realised there's a whole book blogosphere that I must admit I'm a bit intimidated by and trying to do my best to live in. I've even thought of calling it quits at times...but I can't I'm so in it now.
Why I started blogging...I was deeply wounded by a friend of mine and managed to sort myself out and love me again. I'm over her and decided to start a blog all about living yourself and being a individual...shame though I haven't been posting since February...I've had some personal mini crises since then...family stuff and just tucked down into my favoured escape apart from writing and music...books. I plan to get back on track with my other blog in the morning...I'm knackered had a full on, library day with my baby bro today.
I think I've said enough...I'm a Lit Bitch, Hear me ROAR!
